Retailing Daze
6.2.10 Longtime customer / current hippie John F. told a story today about the time Little Richard played at Hamilton College. The contract called for the backup band to play at his fraternity after the concert, which they did, after a rockin' show. During a break, a couple of the guys asked if there was any food around, as they hadn't had a chance to have dinner. John F. had kitchen duties in the frat house... and that's how he came to fix dinner for Jimi Hendrix!

6.3.10 A woman came over holding up a Hannibel Lecter box set and asking if we had "Headhunter." We didn't. She asked if I'd seen the movies; I said I'd seen "Silence of the Lambs" and read the other two, but that I had no suspension of disbelief with bloody images and so avoided them.
She looked very surprised, saying, "Then you wouldn't make a very good nurse."
"That's true," I agreed, "luckily I figured that out a long time ago." When she said she was a trauma nurse, I said, "Oh, so looking at movie blood is nothing for you!" She said it wasn't; in fact, she could always tell when the makeup & effects people had got the blood wrong!
